"The back of the shoes ripped after 3 times of wearing them. I have always carefully put these on and taken them off and stored them in the fabric bags they came with when not wearing. Extremely disappointed and saddened that this happened outside the warranty period, as I got them for a wedding that was cancelled back in 2023. I work outside and extremely seldom have had opportunities to wear these. They’re stunningly gorgeous and I had faith in their quality based on other reviews, but I seem to have gotten a bad pair."

The ultimate successor to the J&M Conard
"After 6 years of loyal service, my trusty Johnston & Murphy Conard 1. 0's (black with wingtips) finally started to show signs of retirement, so I pulled the trigger on these Jacks to replace them. I've been wanting a pair of Tafts since my buddy Cam introduced them to me a few years back. At first, they were a bit tight, but having done the break-in song and dance numerous times before, I decided to just trust the process. Now they're perfect, and I'm so glad I finally took the leap. I just ordered a pair of Gladiators to replace my very-worn J&M Conard 2. 0's, I'll definitely report back with my thoughts!"

"I had a red carpet to walk, and I wanted everything to look perfect without being too boring or too flashy. The first compliment I got was on my shoes, which is what I've come to expect when I wear Taft. They were a little stiff at first, but I wore them all night and was on my feet quite a bit and having them be not-all-patent-leather made for a comfortable night, as well as looking great."
