"First time ordering from Taft after admiring them for a while, and I'm very impressed! The shoes are gorgeous, and look and feel very well made. All the stitching is pristine, no globs of glue or loose thread, actually sewn together instead of just glued down like many shoes are, the woven texture looks really great and is well done, no flaws I can spot anywhere. The insoles are nicely cushioned and have good arch support. I'm seriously obsessed with these shoes and will be wearing them nonstop until the snow gets too high. The color and shape is classic, and the woven part adds a little bit extra without being too trendy as to look outdated in a year or two. I also love that it's all leather, instead of cloth, which wears faster and is a pet-hair magnet. I do have high arches/tall feet from an old break that didn't set correctly, so the shoes are a little tight on the tops of my feet, which is normal. After a few hours of wear with thick socks, the leather stretched just enough to fit comfortably. They were a little narrow in the toe box, but again, thick socks and a few hours wearing them around the house fixed that as well. The joy of leather shoes! The shipping was incredibly fast, and the packaging was gorgeous. Everything was well boxed, and the shoes were packed in individual bags with extra laces and a shoe horn as well. The boxes were well designed--sturdy enough to handle whatever it is that FedEx does to packages in my area (my best guess is they use them for elephant obstacle courses before delivering), without excess material or lots of plastic. I really appreciate that! It felt luxurious, and that kind of care and attention to detail tends to correlate with a well made product, so between that and the signs of good construction and quality materials, I'm very confident that these shoes are made to last."

"I order the Becca shoe on a last chance sale. The shoe came and it was indeed very well-crafted. The sizing is really tight. Too tight to wear comfortably. I tried to reach out to support to see if I had any options. I’ve now tried three methods of contact: replying to the order email (as instructed), emailing support (no answer) and calling (phone disconnected). Even last chance customers deserve an answer back. Buyer beware. The shoes are gorgeous, sizing is weird, there is no support."
Lovely, but…
"I bought these at a 7M/9W which I thought would be a proper mens 7. . I can wear a man’s 7 because they are a woman’s medium. . usually. I’ve bought several from Taft. . . 3 boots and 2 woven slip ones and each was made thick and substantial. For some reason, I couldn’t even get the last part of my foot in them, and they were very light weight. I realize you have many female customers, but they love mens shoes for the thick substantial and excellent craftsmanship men’s shoe often bring. I hate spending loads of money on WOMENS shoes because they are often thin and wear out very quickly…if you wear them often. Why can’t we have the same quality as men? As much as I wanted to love these, I sent them back."
