How to measure your foot
  • Put a piece of paper on the ground next to a wall
  • Standing firmly on the piece of paper with your heel slightly touching the wall, mark the paper where your foot is the longest (most likely at the tip of your big toe)
  • With a ruler, measure the distance from the wall to the mark on the paper (indicating the longest part of your foot)
  • Take that measurement and match it with a measurement in the “Inches” column in the size chart.
  • Wear socks when measuring your feet
  • Measure your feet at the end of the day, as your feet tend to expand throughout the day
  • Measure both of your feet, as one may be bigger than the other

Product Details
We only use vegetable-tanned, chromium-free, full-grain leathers. These high-quality leathers make our shoes durable and comfortable. We partner with the best mills and tanneries in the world to produce bold styles using the most unique leathers in the world.
Our leathers are painted, stained, and burnished by hand. Creating a unique shoe means not being limited on what we can design…finishing the shoes by hand gives us total freedom in our products and makes every single pair a unique piece of art.
All of our patterns are cut by hand. We do not use molds or lasers to cut the leather. This takes much more time but it allows for only the best sections of a hide to be used.
All of our shoes are fully-lined with soft calfskin leather, which means ultimate comfort. Most companies will only partially line their shoes, but we go the extra mile because it means a more comfortable shoe and less break-in time.
Stacked leather sole with rubber injections offers durability, comfort, and traction. Leather soles are universally recognized as the most luxurious and premium type of sole.
Our shoes feature Blake-stitched construction for longevity and comfort. It also allows for increased flexibility and a sleek silhouette. You will notice a big difference from normal, cemented shoes to a stitched pair of TAFT footwear. Get ready for comfort right out of the box.
Sizing Guide
All Taft shoes are design to match standard US dress shoe sizes. However, to ensure the perfect fit, please make sure:
All our shoes are standard D width. If you have wide feet, please select next size up.
If you wear in-between sizes, please size down for Taft boots and shoes.
Do not order your sneaker size. Please size down 0.5 - 1 US number.
In general, our shoes run slightly big. We suggest you size down if you are between sizes.

The TAFT Quality Promise

Beautiful Shoes. Beautiful Prices.

Handmade in Europe by experienced artisans, every pair is made with precision, patience and decades of experience. We are advocates of ethical fashion.

In a world of poorly made shoes, TAFT products are built to last. Every pair is hand-cut and Blake-stitched using vegetable-tanned leathers from top European tanneries and mills. Your shoes will look beautiful right out of the box, and for years to come.

By selling exclusively online, we save our customers an average of $200 a pair. You can compare the quality of our shoes to $500 shoes you’d find sitting on the shelves at big box stores. From the beginning, we’ve wanted nothing more than to offer high quality at a lower price.

What is my Taft shoe size?
Our shoes are made true to size. If you typically wear a size 9, you can order a size 9 in Taft shoes.

We only offer whole sizes...if you typically wear a half-size, we strongly recommend that you size down. For example, if you wear a size 10.5, we recommend that you size down to a 10.

If you have any specific questions, you can email us at We are happy to help!

Awesome Boots!

My new boots look awesome. Every time I wear them I always get compliments. I normally wear a 10.5/11 in Nike tennis shoes and I got a size 42 and they fit perfectly.

very comfortable shoes

My girlfriend gave me these boots for christmas and I absolutely love them I have a deep plantar arch and there is not need to wear any extra sole insole of any kind. The only detail is that my jeans stain the suede so I have to very carefool other that that I really like them.

The Mack Boot in Sand

I was really excited about this purchase and when i received the shoes i could tell the level of quality was going to be great. The first issue i ran into was that the boots did not fit great with my standard socks which was inconvenient but i used athletic socks that were thicker to resolve the issue. The biggest issue came when i actually wore the boots for the first time, i have to say i was extremely disappointed. The inner part of the soles are starting to separate after one wear and the sole itself is even showing cracking.

Hey Jorge!

Thank you for your review and for your purchase. I wanted to jump on here and give you a bit of feedback based on your review and feedback. As stated on the product page, our boots tend to run a bit bigger than most American and Asian-made shoes. Sizing is not universal. We do offer free exchanges for this very reason, but sizing is a really tricky thing and we try to do the best we can to accommodate any sizing issues. In your first photo, it appears like there is a tiny sliver of space between the sole and the upper. These shoes are Blake-stitched, meaning that the upper is cemented to the sole, and then stitched/sewn from the bottom up (if you look at the bottom of the sole, you will see stitching going around the edge of the sole). This means that the sole and the upper will never come apart. I assume when you are wearing the shoes, there is no space at all and that is only an issue when you are pulling the upper away from the sole to create that space. The good news is that does NOT mean that the sole is coming apart from the upper. These will be just fine and this is nothing to worry about. If these were cemented shoes, it would be a problem. Because we cement AND stitch our shoes, they will never come apart.

As for your second photo.....this is called a "welt join" and that tiny little crack is (literally) on every single pair of shoes we make. It is a sign of the type of construction. It is not a flaw nor a problem at is simply where the leather of the sole is joined together and closed. Leather doesn't naturally occur in the shape of what we need to create a boot sole, so the strip of leather is wrapped around the sole and then joins together at that part that you thought was a crack. Every shoe we make has a welt join and again, this is nothing to worry about.

Hopefully this helps you feel better about your purchase and your boots. European-made, Blake-stitched shoes are made much differently than what most people are used to and it seems like that may have been the case for you. You can rest assured that your boots are in great shape and will last you a very long time. If you have any additional questions, feel free to email us at and we are happy to help you further, Jorge! Thanks!
