How to measure your foot
  • Put a piece of paper on the ground next to a wall
  • Standing firmly on the piece of paper with your heel slightly touching the wall, mark the paper where your foot is the longest (most likely at the tip of your big toe)
  • With a ruler, measure the distance from the wall to the mark on the paper (indicating the longest part of your foot)
  • Take that measurement and match it with a measurement in the “Inches” column in the size chart.
  • Wear socks when measuring your feet
  • Measure your feet at the end of the day, as your feet tend to expand throughout the day
  • Measure both of your feet, as one may be bigger than the other

We are proud of our craft. Each shoe is handmade using the highest quality materials, sourced directly from our factory in Europe.
SOFT CALFSKIN LINING
All of our shoes are fully-lined with soft calfskin leather, which means ultimate comfort. Most companies will only partially line their shoes, but we go the extra mile because it means a more comfortable shoe and less break-in time.
FULL-GRAIN LEATHERS
We only use vegetable-tanned, chromium-free, full-grain leathers. These high quality leathers makes our shoes durable and comfortable. We partner with the best mills and tanneries in the world to produce bold styles using the most unique leathers in the world.
PAINTED BY HAND
Our leathers are painted, stained, and burnished by hand. Creating a unique shoe means not being limited on what we can design…finishing the shoes by hand gives us total freedom in our products and makes every single pair a unique piece of art.
HAND-CUT AND STITCHED
All of our patterns are cut by hand. We do not use molds or lasers to cut the leather. This takes much more time but it allows for only the best sections of a hide to be used.
DAINITE RUBBER SOLE
Dainite makes the most renowned rubber sole for Goodyear construction. It is durable, comfortable, and adds an extra layer of water-resistance to your boots. The best boots in the world are often made with a Dainite sole and we knew it was the right choice for this style.
GOODYEAR WELT CONSTRUCTION
This shoe is made using the classic Goodyear Welt Construction. This method allows for easy resoling, longevity, and added water-resistance. Goodyear welt construction is the most labor intensive type of shoe construction and the result is a beautiful shoe that will last you a long time.

The TAFT Quality Promise

Beautiful Shoes. Beautiful Prices.

Handmade in Southern Spain by experienced artisans, every pair is made with precision, patience and decades of experience. We are advocates of ethical fashion.

In a world of poorly made shoes, TAFT products are built to last. Every pair is hand-cut and blake-stitched using vegatable-tanned leathers from top European tanneries and mills. Your shoes will look beautiful right out of the box, and for years to come.

By selling exclusively online we save our customers an  average of $200 a pair.  You can compare the quality of our  shoes to $500 shoes you’d find sitting on the shelves at big  box stores. From the beginning, we’ve wanted nothing  more than to offer high quality at a lower price.

FAQ

What is my Taft shoe size?
Our shoes are made true to size. If you typically wear a size 9, you can order a size 9 in Taft shoes.

We only offer whole sizes...if you typically wear a half-size, we strongly recommend that you size down. For example, if you wear a size 10.5, we recommend that you size down to a 10.

If you have any specific questions, you can email us at support@taftclothing.com. We are happy to help!

The shoe I want is sold out... what should I do?

Lovely boot.

Purchased the Gladiator boot about a week ago. Initial reaction is pleased. Lovely boot and the quality seems solid. Looking forward to breaking them in.

Your boots will not look like the pictures.

Just received my pair and while the same style, they do not look like the shoes in the pictures and definitely not like the video above. The lighting in the pictures gives the impression that the shoes are way darker and way more contextualized than they really are. Taft really needs to change these pictures, and especially the video, to be more representative of what you will really get. If you are buying, make sure to look at the actual photos of other purchasers in the reviews. Those are more accurate, but even those are highly variable. I would say that the photo of the boots by Carlos R. are the closest to the boots I received. 1. My shoes are no way near as shiny - they are the same dull grainy texture across the entire boot. 2. The stain of the boots in the pictures is way nicer, with the darkness around the stitching, and an almost two-tone look as your eyes move from the laces to the tip of the boot. The boots in the video are beautiful. My boots are very mono- colored, resembling the top grainy portion of the boot all around. I was told that the boots in the pictures and video were stained differently and polished. 3. On one shoe the grain on the tip is noticeably different (more pebbled) than the other. While I get that these are "hand-made" I would like both to look the same. 4. Like the previous reviewer, the tips are narrower and not as flat than what is shown in the pictures/video. Look, I love Taft designs and will still order from them.. But they are still working through quality and variation issues, which is a shame. The customer service is fantastic, but it becomes aggravating to have to return shoes due to quality issues, especially when you bought them purposely to wear to a specific event.
